    2. Heat water to about 175°F (80°C) and let it cool for a minute to avoid scalding the matcha.
    3. Pour a small amount of the hot water (about 4 tablespoons) into the bowl or mug with the sifted matcha.
    4. Use a bamboo matcha whisk (chasen) or a small whisk to vigorously whisk the matcha and hot water together in a zigzag motion until it forms a smooth, frothy green paste. This should take about 15-20 seconds.
    5. Once the paste is smooth, add the remaining hot water to the bowl or mug and whisk again for a few seconds to combine.
    6. Optionally, you can sweeten your matcha with honey or add a splash of milk for a matcha latte.
